Executive Director

The Lord’s calling became real to me at five years of age. I saw a picture of a burning building on television and I knew from my time in Sunday School that Hell was a place of fire. I felt God’s tugging at my young heart and I asked my mother if she would pray with me as I accepted the Lord Jesus into my heart. During these many years that I have followed, I have found the Lord to be faithful and true to His Word. I have sought to honor Him with my life and the verse that has always guided my ministry is Psalm 27:1:

The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear, the Lord is the strength of my life of whom I shall be afraid?

I attended Rothesay Baptist Christian School (now Valley Christian Academy) for my K-12 school years. The Lord used the years I spent in Christian School to prepare my heart and mind to serve Him in the field of education. During the spring of grade 12, I found myself at a crossroads that would tear me apart for months. I had an agenda of what I wanted to do and I really wanted God to stay out of it. However, through the power of His Word I came to see that what He wanted for my life would ultimately be best and I surrendered my ambition to Him. Through the Lord’s leading, I enrolled in the Christian School Education program at Bethany Bible College in the fall of 1992 and graduated in the spring of 1996. Those years were dedicated to training for God’s calling in Christian School ministry, learning a number of lessons the hard way, and playing as wholeheartedly as I worked.

Sussex Christian School became my first full-time teaching job in the fall of 1998. I was not prepared for how the experience of teaching junior and high students would stretch me. Early on the Lord gave me a verse from the Book of Luke, “To whom much is given, much is required.” The task that was laid before me seemed enormous and I found myself continually needing God’s strength and direction. In the fall of 2001, God would call me to accept a different role within the school. Since then I have served as principal for Sussex Christian School. I had no idea in the beginning that would be the result and I continue to seek God’s direction, discernment and wisdom to lead the school.

Graduating from a Master’s program in 2003 from Philadelphia Biblical University, I continued to feel God’s hand of blessing on my life and ministry as a Christian educator. Today, I am working on an educational doctorate from Liberty University and continue to serve the Lord at Sussex Christian School. I am excited to join the Christian Action Federation Team as an adjunct speaker. I am trusting that God will extend the boundaries of my Christian education experience outside the walls of SCS.
